The Story: Lydia of the Bible

This jewelry collection is named after a craftswoman whose story I love. It is recorded in the Bible, in Acts 16.
During the mid-1st Century, the apostle Paul, along with other followers of Jesus, were traveling the land
that is now modern-day Turkey and Greece. They were sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with people in the area.
Many became followers of Jesus and were set free to live a life of knowing Christ and bringing Him glory.

In the Greek city of Philippi, Paul encountered a woman named Lydia who was selling luxury purple fabric by the river.
A regular workday for her became the day her life was transformed forever, as the Lord opened her heart to the gospel. She put her trust in Jesus Christ, as did her entire household. Acting on her new faith, she provided hospitality for Paul and the other missionaries during their stay in Philippi, as they sought to bring others into the great joy of a relationship with Jesus.
